Ecomat
was founded in 1989 by Ward Lootvoet, pioneer in Belgium with regard to ecological
building and living. The company was founded to make concrete the belief in the
value of a natural lifestyle. Since the start Ecomat has grown into a remarquable
building trader that offers a wide-spread range of ecological, natural and healthy
building products.
Ecomat has build up a unique treasure of experience and practical knowledge in
this field, as well as an extended network of contacts with suppliers, distributors,
contracters, communities and architects. The entire Ecomat building is in its very
construction a place of learning and knowledge, where a wide range of natural
building materials have been applied.
As criteria in the selection of suitable materials Ecomat has been
most inspired by the book of Anthony Mackay: ''Biologisch en Ecologogisch Bouwen
en Wonen'', Rosenheim. Also very important are the guidelines created by NIBE,
the "Nederlands Instituut voor Bouwbiologie en Ecologie".

Ecomat is al sinds 1986 groot- en kleinhandel in bio-ecologische bouwmaterialen en duurzame energie. Voor milieuvriendelijk, gezond en duurzaam bouwen kiest Ecomat voor bouwmaterialen die zich bevinden in klasse I en II van VIBE, Vlaams Instituut voor Bio-Ecologisch bouwen en wonen. Ecomat verdeelt ondermeer de volgende merken : Calcatex, Castanea, Celit, Faxe, Fermacell, Holzweg, Homatherm, Isofloc, Isolair, Isovlas, Izen, Junckers, Lutece, Panterre, Pavatex, ProClima, Solatube, Tierrafino, Tilly, Vermiculite en Volvox. Ecomat is ook leverancier van Ecohuis Antwerpen. |
